Letter of Nomination: Delta Air Lines

Letter of Nomination: Delta Air Lines

Delta Air Lines is proud to support our LGBT employees, customers and communities where we live and serve, embracing our diverse people, thinking and styles.

Delta is a culture of global inclusion and represents people of all languages, ethnicities, cultures, gender identification, races, ages, sexual orientation, educations, religions, work experiences, family status, capabilities, political views, geographical and regional identification, values, skills, personalities, education, citizenship status, socioeconomic backgrounds, community memberships and even communication styles. Whether you are an employee or our customer, we believe it is these differences that strengthen and define our airline with global diversity serving as a core Delta value.

We demonstrate our commitment by advertising in national LGBT publications like OutTraveler, but most importantly through our words and actions. Delta, the largest employer in Georgia and one of the largest employers in Minnesota, extends domestic partner benefits to our employees, including health, dental and life insurance, as well as pension and flight benefits. Our employees actively support and participate in GLEN, Delta's Gay and Lesbian Employee Network and ANGLE, our Northwest subsidiary's Alliance of Northwest Gay and Lesbian Employees. Throughout the years, these networks have helped us continue to build and expand our strong relationships with the LGBT community around the world.

Over the years, Delta has supported regional Pride events in cities that span the globe including Atlanta, Boston, Cincinnati, London, Minneapolis/St. Paul, New York City, Salt Lake City and San Francisco. Delta employees including flight attendants, gate agents and executives proudly join together to march in parades and ride on floats, proclaiming Delta's commitment to our diverse workforce and communities. In addition, Delta has supported AIDS Walk events and AIDS related charities in Atlanta, Ft. Lauderdale, Minneapolis/St. Paul and New York City, with hundreds of employees marching to raise money and awareness for HIV/AIDS. Last year, Delta was proud to be the Premier Sponsor of the 2008 NYC AIDS Walk and to serve as The Official Airline of GMHC (Gay Men's Health Crisis), the world's oldest HIV/AIDS service organization

With our vast global network, only Delta can bring LGBT travelers to the most popular destinations you want to go worldwide, including New York City, Paris, Prague, Berlin, San Francisco, Key West and Amsterdam. Beginning in July, Delta will be the only airline to serve six continents with the addition of new service to Sydney, Australia*.

From hubs in Atlanta, Cincinnati, Detroit, Memphis, Minneapolis-St. Paul, New York-JFK, Salt Lake City and Tokyo-Narita, Delta, its Northwest subsidiary and Delta Connection carriers offer service to 377 destinations worldwide in 66 countries and serve more than 170 million passengers each year.

Delta's marketing alliances allow customers to earn and redeem miles through either the SkyMiles® or WorldPerks® program on more than 16,000 daily flights offered by SkyTeam and other partners. Delta and our over 70,000 employees worldwide are committed to reshaping the aviation industry for air travelers as the world's largest airline and the only U.S. airline to offer a full global network. Customers can check in for flights, print boarding passes, check bags and flight status at delta.com.
