Top 10 Photos Of NYC Pride

Check out the OutTraveler's favorite photos from coverage of the New York City Gay Pride parade -- the gayest event in all five boroughs (and that’s saying a lot!).

NycPride_2 1. Sexy Oscar Winner

Causing hearts to flutter was Oscar-winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black, one of the parade’s three Grand Marshalls (along with activist legends Cleve Jones and Anne Kronenberg). Black is not only a talented writer but cute, with a winning smile, crafted exclusively for our camera!

New York's International Cringefest

Cringefest Because there's enough terribly earnest terrible theater in the world (which gays knowingly conceive, create, produce, and consume), it's a bit refreshing to know that fresh satire about this issue planned well in advance thanks to the International CringeFest '09. If Woody Allen and Larry David can enjoy wild success with that awkward and discomforting comedy, so can we!

Vancouver Pride 2009

Vancouver_2 Outstandingly attractive, impressively athletic and gastronomically blessed, Vancouver is a truly enticing destination. It's such an appealingly integrated city that it was chosen to host the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

The proliferation of gay life and gay businesses along rainbow flag-bedecked Davie Street underscores the fact that 35 percent of the West End's towers are gay-occupied. Lesbian enclave Commercial Drive is also home to ever-more LGBT inhabitants. In reality, though, Vancouver's gay community is well integrated citywide, woven through the city's fabric at every level.

Milwaukee PrideFest Gets Diva'd Up

Lauper It's the little Pride event that could. The first official festival was hosted in 1988, and ever since, PrideFest (June 12 - 14) keeps getting bigger and better - despite last year's stormy weather and a group of protesters that tried to draw attention away from the event. But hey, that's so 2008.

Organizers for '09 have whipped up a diva-tastic line up that rivals other cities twice as big as Milwaukee. Cyndi Lauper, Brandy, Etta James and Deborah Cox are all scheduled to perform.
