What is the best thing that you like about your ride?

Connie is two and a half tons of fun!  We get lots of attention cruising down the highway.

Do you like tinkering under the hood, or do you leave repairs and routine maintenance to your mechanic?

Basic, simple repairs I do.  Complicated stuff that I could mess up and spend more at a mechanic to fix, I'll send out.

What special touches have you added to your car that reflect your personality and individuality?

Sirius Satellite Radio and a Houston Flat Track Roller Derby Sticker on the back window.

What is the most you’ve ever paid for a car?  What is the most you would ever pay for a car?

$35k.  After I pay off the current ride (Abby), I'll start my Lincoln collection.  Goal is to own one from every decade.

Do you have a great memory of a date that relates to you car?  Describe that night (or day).

Clean story: driving to Chicago with my family for Christmas vacation every year.  I would watch the cars coming the other way down the interstate and see if I could name the make and model before they passed.

Dirty story: My first boyfriend and I used to crawl into the backseat of my Focus ZX3 and make out.  We used to park in random upscale neighborhoods and fog up the windows.

Do you find yourself more attracted to people with similar car tastes to your own?  Or doesn’t it matter?

I am VERY attracted to people who love to drive American cars. Its shows that they have respect for American workmanship and some national pride.  Foreign cars turn me off, especially BMWs and Mercedes.

Do you think your car has a personality or soul?

Yes, I've named every car.  Mary Todd ('93 Lincoln Towncar), Betty ('01 Ford Focus ZX3), Maggie ('05 Dodge Magnum), Abby ('08 Lincoln MKZ), Connie ('66 Lincoln Continental).  I was going for a First Lady motif with the Fords but ran out of names.

Some people argue that a car can have the soul of a man or a woman.  I believe that all cars have the soul of a woman...why else would they require SO much attention?

Are you a member of any car clubs or other auto related organizations?

Classic Chassis Car Club in Houston, Texas.  Great group of older gay men who just love cars.
