What was the last vacation you took? Where did you go? Where do you most want to go?

It was November, 2007. I went with a friend to the Parliament House in Orlando. I would love to go to the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas or to Greece.

Are any famous people from your town?

As a matter of fact, there are a few. One that comes to mind is Vanna White.

What are some of the things you love most about your town?

I love the beach, some of the shops/malls, entertainment venues, and clubs.

If someone came to your town for just four hours, what is the one thing he should do?

Broadway at the Beach, Barefoot Landing. Coastal Grande Mall, (the newly opened) Hard Rock Theme Park, The Palace Theatre, Carolina Opry, Dixie Stampede, and lastly any of the hot spots on Ocean Blvd.

What are some great restaurants for a night out with gay friends?

The Royal Thai Restaurant, Umi Pacific Bar and Grille, TGIFridays, Carolina Roadhouse/Chili's, California Pizza, or El Cerro Grande.

What are some great restaurants for a romantic gay date? What about these restaurants appeals to you?

I like the atmosphere of The Royal Thai, even though I have never been there with a date -- only alone or with friends.

What are your favorite gay bars and/or dance clubs?

There are two or three bars in Myrtle Beach for gays. Time Out and Rainbow House are the main ones. Club Kryptonite is more alternative but gay-friendly, and there is another one but I can't remember the name (it's on 17 Business/Kings Hwy and 10th Avenue, though).

What are your favorite gay parties or events in your town, if any? What is the crowd or scene like at those places?

Don't really associate with some of the gays in this town (and not to sound bitter) but they mainly for the most part act too queeny/cliquesh (and that does not make me want to hang out with ANY of them!). That being said, I really don't know what the "scene" is like at these places -- since I don't do "scenes," and stick to a select group of people, and mostly to myself.

Where is the best public place for a gay person to make out there (or isn't there one)?

There is a gay beach (on 82nd Ave. N.) that some gays go to "make out" (if that's what you wanna call it -- LOL).

Where do you shop for clothes?

I'm not one of those label queens, so it doesn't matter if it's Rue 21 or Abercrombie or friggin' Wal-Mart.

Where do you go for other forms of entertainment -- live theater, concerts, movies, art exhibits? Are there any local gay performance groups, bands, or artists that you're a fan of?

I go to any of the bars (sometimes). There is a local community theater in Conway (30 miles from Myrtle Beach). The Theatre of the Republic, Carolina Opry, House of Blues. Never really thought of the actual local bands, but you can pick up the Kicks section of the local newspaper (the Sun News) -- there's a slew of information on all that.

If you had gay friends visiting from out of town for the first time, what are some "must-dos" you'd recommend?

The two main gay bars, Hard Rock Park, and Coastal Grande Mall.

Is there a local cocktail that's popular in your town?

Not sure of any exact names. Again, check the Kicks section in the sun news. There's a popular sushi bar in the town on Ocean Boulevard.

Where do the hot boys in your town tend to hang out?

Mainly at the clubs.

What bar has the cutest/hottest bartenders? (Don't name people's names)

Time Out and Kryptonite.

Do gay men and lesbians hang out together in your town or is that just unheard of?

They do hang out, but in cliques, like I said (so it's really like we're back in high school or something).

Has your town ever had a "gay scandal?" If so, describe it -- but don't use names!

Not sure if it would be considered "scandal" as much as national media attention. Back in 1998, the owner of the old location of the Rainbow House was being pressured by the homophobic mayor of Myrtle Beach. When it came time to nominate which city would host gay Pride that year, the aforementioned mayor had to make a big stink about it -- causing the gays to then decide they were BOUND and DETERMINED on having it here in MB! That was good for our town, 'cause we had never had one here, and the few since then haven't been NOTHING like the one 10 years ago. A certain famous drag queen worked and sashayed her stuff and performed at the House of Blues that weekend. Also, a famous blonde lesbian talk show host's mom spoke right before the actual Pride ceremonies and parade.
