Men! Zambia wants you
(Barbara Wilcox) Wild Rainbow African Safaris, which has been taking gay men and lesbians to Africa for five years, has just announced its first trip for men -- a safari and walking tour of Zambia, Aug. 18-29, 2009.
From Lusaka, the capital, travelers will stay in three-to-five-star camps and tented lodges along the Zambezi River and experience game drives and canoe excursions as well as morning game walks in the bush to see the wildlife up close and personal. "I just got back from this year's trip and on one of the walks we saw four of the Big Five in one morning," says owner/guide Jody Cole.
The Bay Area-based company also offers mixed trips to South Africa, Madagascar and Kenya/Tanzania. "We are an LGBT safari company," Cole proudly notes. "We don't do anything else."
I just got back from Zambia with Alison as my guide. This was a truly magical trip!
Zambia has an amazing abundance of wildlife and I can't imagine a better way to explore its treasures than a walking safari.
Alison & Jodie are the best and can take all the hassles out of arranging a multi-destination vacation. The food was off the charts and the accommodations extremely comfortable.
I can't wait to return!
Matt
P.S. Animals seen: lions, leopards, elephants, crocodiles, hyenas, giraffes, hippos, many birds and antelopes of all kinds. Even a *huge* python (at my request). :-)

Moving too fast, I meant to say that "Jody" was our fabulous guide and Alison helped us with the arrangements!

Ahh, brings back incredible memories of the African Safari that I went on with Jody as our guide. It was hands down, the best trip I've ever been on (and I've been a gazillion places). The whole trip was planned out so perfectly by Allison, from having an eye opening cultural experience one day to a luxurious one the next day and then an adventurous one after that. We saw all the Big 5, just a few feet away from us, leopards in trees, lions feasting on buffalo, and we even chased a rhino! Camping in the Bush was so amazing, I still miss the wonderful sounds at night, of the elephants and more. I'd go back in a second. We had such a great group of people too. The food, the gorgeous places we stayed, the fantastic experiences, there's nothing like Africa. If you're thinking of a safari, this is the one to go on!
